#20170610 - Diploma 3rd year mechanical student from Vellore

With Aalayam support, our beneficiary has completed his 2nd year diploma with good marks. He has requested for our support again, to pay the final year fees. After the final review we approve Rs.30000 for this year tuition fees.

Old Story: This student, who hails from Vellore district, is currently pursuing his second year of a diploma course. His father works as a serviceman in an MRF canteen drawing a salary of about Rs. 8,500. His mother takes up some weaving work at home and is able to earn about Rs. 50 – Rs. 100 per day but this often affected by power cuts in the area. The student has a younger brother who is in a government school nearby.

In the first semester, three of the student’s friends donated Rs. 5,000 each to help him meet his college fee of Rs. 18,000. The remainder was paid by the student, who now needs help to pay the second semester’s fees. After Aalayam’s reviews, Rs. 8,000 has been approved to support his studies.
